Open Cold Game Working test at Kettleby on Sunday 19 September 2021

This was the last test of the 2021 season held at Bridge Farm, Kettleby by kind permission of Richard and Michael Gladwin. Our judges were Andrew Slingsby and Mike Birchall.  The Chief Steward was Charlie Albone and Sue Lowe was the Dog Steward.

The test was walked up, run on Field Trial lines with eliminating faults.

The first round was 2 retrieves, both random long marks in stubble.  Round 2 was 1 retrieve, a very long marked cross retrieve.  Twelve dogs out of sixteen went through the cut to round 3 which was again walked up in stubble with a long blind on the edge of a shallow dyke to the left of the line and a long mark in front.  The first dog picked the blind and the second the mark, then roles were reversed.  Four dogs went out on the first blind but the new dogs in line were more successful.

The judges got their books together and decided they could finish the test on the work the six dogs had accomplished.
