URC(H&SW) held their final WT of the year on Sunday 20 August 2023 – a 24 dog Open Walked Up Test on Field Trial Lines – at Inpark Farm, Cattistock by kind permission of our Area President and his wife, Mr Robert and Mrs Nicky Atkinson.
With 23 dogs running (including 2 that came in at the 11th hour as 2nd dogs) it was lovely to have an (almost) full card. The judges were Dave England (B) and Ken Green (B) on the right and Mary-Jane Opie (A) with Shane King (NP) on the left, with Robert as Steward of the Beat. Robert ran an excellent day making full use of several fields – some with heavy cover, and longer retrieves where the cover was lighter. The walked up element ended in a field of roots. 3 dogs were taken forward to a drive over the pond before the judges declared “test over”.

3rd Place – Winbeck Loyal Kinsman of Tanderswell (GR D) handled by Margaret Allen
COM – Haddeo Digby (GR D) handled by Judith Evans
COM – Kensteen Kansas Star (Lab D) handled by Roland Stacey
COM – Meridenred Devils Desire (Lab b) handled by Jos Evans
COM – Ashoaks Spindle (Lab b) handled by Felicity Green
