All aged 21 September 2022
Award winners and judges
The United Retriever Club held its first trial of the season, a 14 dog All Aged Stake, on
Wednesday 21 st September 2022 at Ampton Estate, Great Livermere, by kind
permission of Mr Peter Rushbrook.
The judges were Mr John Keegan, Mrs Julia Reed, Mrs Vanessa King and Mrs Sue
Berman. Many thanks to them, and also for their kind invitation to the Club, and fine
shooting throughout the day, grateful thanks go to Mr Bob Marcham and his team of
Guns. Special thanks to Barbara Kuen (our URC Bucks Area Field Trial
Representative), who worked so hard in the weeks beforehand, ensuring that we all
enjoyed a successful day.
Mitforton Libby of Tildaross, owned and handled by Lee Hayman.
Conditions proved difficult for dogs and handlers throughout; it was a day of still, dry
weather and low scent conditions. Retrieves of partridge and hare in thick, high
seeded cover and sugar beet were very challenging: nine dogs progressed to round 2,
four dogs went into round 3, and at the conclusion of the trial, just one remained.
The result was as follows:
The Murrayhill Perpetual Rosebowl and The Ossie Cup were awarded to the winner,
Mitforton Libby of Tildaross, owned and handled by Lee Hayman. Also awarded to
Lee, the Morinda Cup for Guns’ Choice.
Many congratulations to Lee from everyone at URC, a very worthy winner.
