Thw winner FTCh Ticefield Dazed N’ Confused, owned by Reuben Corbett and handled by Ben Almey.
The Club held a 12 dog All Aged Stake on Monday 7th October 2024, by kind permission of Mr Mike and Mrs Antonia Appleby at Honeycombe Shoot in Dorset. It was a fabulous day: our hosts, along with their Honeycombe team, offered a very warm welcome and generous hospitality at their beautiful ground to all those in attendance.
Our judges were Mr Jamie Bettinson, Mr Matt Gould, Mr Shane King and Mr Chris Gore. Many thanks to them for their expertise in managing a superbly run trial, in conjunction with Steward of the Beat, Mr Mike Appleby.
Thanks also to Mr Roland Stacey and his team of Guns for supporting our event, and for their superb shooting throughout the day.
Special thanks to Judy Venables (our URC Hants & SW Area Chairman), for all her hard work and preparations in advance of the trial, ensuring that we enjoyed such a successful day. Members of the URC Parent Body Committee who attended were Caron Chattwood, Stuart Allmark and our Chief Steward, Mrs Jennie Dimmock. Also, local Committee member, Fen D’Lucie. URC Committees always support their trials so well; many thanks to everyone for working together as a team to help the trial run so efficiently.
What a fabulous trial we all enjoyed! Weather conditions were good: it was a fine day with a light breeze, sunny spells and a few sharp showers. The first drive took place in very dense woodland. Following on, the line walked up through tall wild bird cover and subsequently, two further drives took place. It was a pleasure to watch the dogs and handlers work so well as they were thoroughly tested on a variety of ground to retrieve duck, pheasant and both French and English partridge. Five dogs progressed through to the fourth round, and three completed successfully. The results were as follows:
The Murrayhill Perpetual Rosebowl and The Ossie Cup were awarded to the winner:
FTCh Ticefield Dazed N’ Confused, owned by Reuben Corbett and handled by Ben Almey.
Also presented to Ben was the Morinda Cup for Guns’ Choice.
2nd. Nobsquinton Teasel of Croftferry, owned and handled by Steve Prosser
3rd. Beggarbush Wilderness to Elmertown, owned and handled by Angie Townsend
Many congratulations to those in the awards from everyone at URC!
