Novice W/up FT lines 21 Aug 2022
The United Retriever Club’s Southern Area today 21st August 2022, held a Novice Walked-Up Test on Field Trial lines at Popes Oak Farm, West Grinstead, West Sussex, by very kind permission of Mrs Sheila Chessell.
The judges presiding over proceedings were John Keegan, Mark Polley, Sue Jordan and Sarah Winter.
This was a new test for our Area which our WT Sec replaced the cold game test with and which proved very popular, walking up on stubble with retrieves over ditches and through treelines, giving the novices a real taste of what to expect in the world of trialling.
There was a brand-new trophy, The Chalvington Cup, presented to recognise long and dedicated service to Southern Area by our past Chairman Graham Harrison and past Working Test Secretary Wendy Harrison and this was deservedly claimed by:
1st Luke Nightingale handling his Lab (B) Kinagar Eclipse
2nd Sue Convery handling her Lab (D) Highhholts Kit Kat took the Paul Buckle Trophy

It never hurts to thank again all the helpers today, terrific dummy throwing, game carrying, stewarding, catering, organising, in fact everyone supporting the Area today. Thank you all.
