In this, its 24th year, the Sportsman's Progress Shield 2023 for the most improved handler was awarded to Chris Doig and her dog, Bailey. Huge congratulations!! Whilst Chris has been a handler for many years' she stood out in her handling improvements in relation to her current dog during all five of the Bloxworth sessions under the beady eye of expereinced trainer Ken Green. Ken stated that at the start Chris' dog was very excitable and a bit of a handful. Ken highlighted that Chris took on board his advice and worked with Bailey between sessions. Although Chris has trained another dog culminating in some success in working tests, she found Bailey to be completely different. Over the ensuing weeks Ken saw a marked improvement overcoming some of the issues which resulted in a much improved dog. Well done Chris and Bailey!
