Test 1: Judged by Francesca was a marked retrieve down a track, through a gateway onto a grass mound. Before retrieving the mark a blind retrieve should have been collected which was situated on the right just after the gateway. The mark proved too much of a distraction for some dogs.
Test 2: Judged by Jennie was a double marked retrieve – the first retrieve being thrown to left landing behind a horse jump, the second to the right landing on the brow of the hill. The dogs were required to pick the left-hand retrieve first.
Test 3: Judged by Howard was a long marked retrieve with shot in a coppice, down a grass ride and over a fallen tree.
Test 4: After a quick break, Howard went on to judge a blind retrieve to shot over a dam and into woodland. First there was a mark distraction landing in water to the dogs left. The dogs were required to leave the distraction, run along the side of the water into the wood, stop and handle left to the area of the blind.
Test 5: Judge by Francesca and Jennie was a 2 dog walked-up in woodland. Francesca was the sending judge, walking along a track with the dogs and handlers. The gun and second judge were in line but further up a bank in the wood to the dogs left. The dogs were required to heel for 15yrds during this a shot went off but nothing down. The dogs walked on for a single marked retrieve each which landed up the bank and over the brow in the wood.
