Intermediate/ Novice Cold Game Test
INTERMEDIATE / NOVICE COLD GAME TEST 2021
The United Retriever Club (North Midland Area) held a Cold Game Test on 1st August 2021at The Slips, Caunton, Notts by by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Derrick Smith. The judges were Charlotte Jeffrey and Mandy Minshall. The tests involved retrieves on pigeons and a few partridges. The weather was cloudy with a heavy downpour in the morning. The Intermediate?Novice Cold Game Trt ran in conjunction with the Veteran Test. After everal late withdrawals 20 dogs ran in the Intermdiate/Novice section. Three breeds of Retriever competed.
In the morning each judge assessed the dogs on a marked retrieve and a blind at distance in some cover. After lunch Mandy judged a blind with a shot, the bird falling in cover beyond a wire fence. Meanwhile Charlotte judged a blind where the dogs had to go down a tunnel formed by hedges. There was then a clear result for the Intermediate/Novice.
The trophies and prizes of Alpha dog food were presented by Cathy Smith.
