Our Judges Nicola Rudgard and Jayne Coley
The Tests:
Test 1: A double mark, with shot, up a bank proved challenging in the long grass.
Test 2:
A blind just onto the bank across the lake without shot with a distraction shot and mark, not to be retrieved, thrown first. This proved very challenging due mainly to the distance from the lake up the bank that the dogs were being sent from. There were however, some stunning performances on this test that were impresssive to watch!
Test 3:
A short mark and long blind tested the dogs on this exercise. In particular the lay of the terrain drew the dogs off the straight to quickly become out of sight if not kept on line.
Test 4:
A long blind in long grass was the last test of the morning. A shot to the left of the blind drew the dogs away from the line as did the track as it curved away from the area.
Test 5:
After lunch we finished on a 4-dog walk up with a long mark up a bank to the edge of the crop was straight forward for the dogs.
