We were delighted to be able to return to Lady’s Wood Shooting School for our tests on 4th August. Our host, Mrs Karen Pinker, also acted as judge for the day and kindly assisted in setting the tests. Mike Anderson joined Karen to judge all day. We are grateful to Skinners Dog Foods for sponsoring the event once again.
Puppy & Special Puppy tests were run in the morning with 12 and 7 entrants respectively, after two withdrawals from the Special Puppy class. Four tests were set with the Puppy tests being easier than those for Special Puppies. Obedience, marking, steadiness, and hunting were tested. In his comments at the end of the morning, Mike Anderson remarked on the high standard of dog work, saying that he had seen some of the nicest puppies for a long time. Despite the scores being checked by four people before the presentations, a very regrettable mistake was made and the photograph does not show Mrs G Awty who came third in the Puppy class although the card and rosette were initially presented to Mr D Miller.
